The Queensland Government has announced the latest successful tenderers for 13 new areas of geothermal exploration in the State.
Geothermal, or ‘hot rocks’ energy is produced from heat generated and captured from deep inside the earth.
The latest tenderers will have to undertake a native title process before a geothermal exploration permit can be granted.
The preferred tenderers for the latest round are:

The Queensland granted its first exploration permit for geothermal to Granite Power Limited earlier this month (May 2) in the Gladstone area.
