Buru Energy collects 3D seismic data in Canning Basin, WA

BURU Energy has announced it has commenced the Bunda 3D Seismic Survey in the Canning Basin in north-west Western Australia.

According to the company, the Bunda Survey will acquire approximately 223.3 square kilometres of 3D seismic data in Exploration Permit EP 129 and Production Licence L8 in the Canning Basin.

Buru said it aims to develop the petroleum resources of the area.

Buru’s Managing Director, Adrian Cook said the company is keenly anticipating the receipt of the data from the seismic survey as it is the first time a company will acquire 3D seismic data in the Canning Basin.

Cook added if the data confirms results from existing 2D seismic data and a suitable rig and regulatory approvals can be secured for June 2010, then it predicts exciting potential from their drilling program in 2010.
