Rowan earns IADC stamp of approval

ROWAN Drilling UK has become the first drilling contractor company to be awarded full accreditation from the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) Competence Assurance Accreditation Program.

The company was granted conditional accreditation by the IADC in February 2008, with some minor non-conformities to be addressed before full accreditation could be granted.

Rowan the made the necessary program modifications and these were verified by the IADC with site visits in October and November 2008.

Rowan’s Competence Assurance Accreditation applies to 16 rig positions and the personnel holding these positions who work in northern European waters.

Positions accredited are roustabout, floorman, derrickman, crane operator, assistant driller, driller, toolpusher, offshore installation manager, materialsman, barge engineer, motorman, mechanic, electrician, welder, radio operator and medic.
